I asked this over in the chat area, but maybe it's a better question for here-
How do I turn on the spotlight on my 2010 R-29?
I can make it move, but I can't figure out how to turn the light on!

Thanks

Lewis Huffman

The "F" button should turn it on "flood" stage, the "S" button should turn it on in the "Spot" position. If you have pushed these and it does not come on, I would suggest replacing the bulb.

Thanks Karma-

I thought the "S" and "F" were for fast and slow panning of the fixture- since I think there is a rabbit and a turtle under the S and F. !

Maybe, if you're going "like a rabbit" (fast), you need a flood light to see more? If you're going slow "like a turtle" you need the spot light to find crab pot markers, etc.

Try the light and let us know what happens!!

You are right. If you have it panning, they will increase or decrease the speed. It is a bit confusing.....

thanks guys,
I'll head out tonight and see if that works!

I love this site. I have never even turned mine on. Ladybug, Too is a 2009 R-29 so who knows if it will come on when I do try it. At least I will know more about it. She sat on the trailer a while during the BP oil spill so this is my first summer of real use. So much to learn, so little time. Pat

I spent a lot of time getting used to the "internals" while on the trailer whenever it was at home. Of course it is a bit hot for that down here right now unless you have a couple powerful fans (about 30 miles west of you).

I grabbed all the product manuals and started pushing buttons, tracing wires, matching fuses to equipment and resizing where necessary, varnishing, sticking my head and hands where they were never meant to be, etc. Not the same as being on the water, but better than watching TV and now I know the systems reasonably well.

I find that lying at anchor is a good time to dig into things, too. And that is the best time to do things like set the offset on your sounder.
