Are you the ranger tug we meet on the St Croix river very near Hudson, wi on Saturday?
My wife and I were out in our first cruise in our first ranger tug. It was a big surprise to see another in this part of the country.

That's interesting, We are planning to put our (new to us) R25 in at Hanson Boat Harbor on Lake Pepin and motor up the St. Croix river for the shake down cruise before heading to Bayfield (Lake Superior) in July. There is a grey hull R25 in the Lake City Marina, I have not met the owners. Can I inquire as to where to anchor and which marinas you would suggest we use in the mid part of the St. Croix? And I thought I was the only Ranger Tug in the upper Mississippi. 😉

We are in SE South Dakota and plan to come up your way this summer. I hear Lake Pepin is a great place. Might need to look you up for some local info.....maybe buy you a local beer...

Looking forward to a nice, warm summer...

There's a very nice anchorage at Kinnickinnic State Park (WI). There is a charge for overnight, it's $10 if you take the initiative to pay, but if they come by and talk to you, it's $15. Not a terrible 'penalty', but kind of strange, because you're supposed to pay the 'boat office', and when we went looking for it, could not find the boat office. Anyway, well worth it, either way. Another night, we anchored in a clean backwater in the shadows of the Allen S King power plant in Bayport, MN. No one bothered us there; it was quiet and peaceful, although not wilderness at all.
Maybe we'll see you out & about. Hoping to spend as many weekends as feasible in the St Croix for the next several weeks.

Thanks for the info. Looking forward to spending a few days there.

Glad to see more Tugs showing up in this area. They are fantastic boats and so suitable to our river and Great Lakes cruising. Unfortunately, health issues are making it necessary to put our beautiful, barely used, R27 up for sale. Its available right here in Central MN. Attracted to Tugs? Let's talk, we can work a deal that is mutually beneficial. Give me a call, 320-491-9022. .
