On our trip to the PNW this summer, we stayed exclusively in RV Parks as we travel to and from. We found a couple of solutions to making our "Duck" more at home "out of water".

Power: 30 Amp power connectors in RV Parks use a different receptacle than marinas. We used an adapter to connect our marine 30 amp to a regular 15 amp receptacle that "most" RV parks have at each site, some do not. Not finding a 30 amp marine to 30 amp RV adapter, we did find this power cord at Camping World that replaces our marine power cord and allows us to hook up to power at all RV Parks.

Being able to dump our black tank is a plus. We previously have waited until we get Willie's Tug back in the water to pump out. But due to our extended land use we needed a better solution. We found this hose also at Camping World that fits inside our pump overboard through hull. It fits snug enough that no other attachment is needed. They also make a fitting for the business end that screws into the sewer ground pipe. Since we are just dumping and not leaving it connected, I do not feel it is necessary. Works great for us.

Next time I use it, I will try to remember to take a picture of it attached to the boat. But I believe you can get the picture. The metal end slides into the boat's through hull fitting. On edit, I DO keep my hand on the hose at the boat just in case, while Willie operates the breaker for the pump.

Great solution. What are the dimensions of the metal tube you use? Presume the OD is 3/4"...? I'm heading to Campers World. Since I trailer to and from the water and often cannot find a pump out, this would make it very easy to dump at a campground. Thanks!

The Sewer Solution extension hose comes with the metal splicer, it fits our through hull fitting by sliding it inside the through hull. Size? I dunno, press fits inside the 3/4 inch hose from Sewer Solutions.

Thanks for posting Herb. I'll be looking for one of those hoses as we work our way south next week (in our land yacht).

We should have the boat back in the water by then.....come on down and get your boat fix. The weather has been beautiful.

Will that hose work on the gray water thru hulls from the sinks.
I am sure it will, but just do as our friend Jim from Wild Blue does....put a pan in the sink and empty it when done. As far as the shower goes, you would need to catch it from three places (kitchen sink, bath sink and shower) just too much trouble. I suppose someone will rig up a way to do it though.

Thanks Herb -

Great thread - we're planning to follow in your footsteps ( or is it tread steps?) and will be trailering Passage Weaver to new destinations. Maybe even out to Florida and the Bahamas? So I've also been trying out how to handle the waste water & RV power when traveling on land.

Good find on the RV/Marine cord - I had been planning to go Marine to 20 amp, then back up to RV 30 amp, but the cord looks much better.

I borrowed a thru hull fitting from Andrew - the one used for the macerator discharge - and took it to the local hardware store. I tried every hose they had - and settled on dishwasher outlet hose. It's black, rubber, 15/16 OD and 5/8 ID and fits very well up into the fitting. I can push it in and it appears to seal very well - since it is rubber it seems to make it's own washer. It cost 89 cents/ft.

Some RV parks that I've visited in our camper require a sealed sewer connection per their State Health Department. It might have been Oregon? So I also bought a 5/8 inch hose end, a sewer hose rinse cap, and a ground waste fitting adapter to form a sealed ground connection. I think it will work great to hold the business end in the pump out ground fitting while I ensure the boat fitting stays in place. I haven't tested the hole thing yet, but plan to do so when we pick up Passage Weaver and before we use the head for any real "business" - just in case my engineering skills weren't on the money.

I'm also planning to connect the three gray water discharges with the same type of hose (if it fits?) - and will connect them to 5 gallon collapsable bags. While Andrew did say the fitting looked the same, it's inside connection may be different so I'll need to confirm.

I can find part numbers of the sewer fittings if anyone is interested.

I'm also trying to figure out how to get our dogs up into the boat when on a trailer. What do you do with Jake?

Great on the dishwasher hose. I may have to put an o ring on my metal adapter to get a complete seal, and buy the end that connects to the ground sewer pipe.

I lifted Jake onto the swim grid only once. Never again. He made it, but used me for a ramp as his legs started to climb onto the boat. I got a little scratched and he was heavy... So now he sleeps in the truck. He spends all day there and has a nice bed. So after happy hour and dinner on the tether and with us, he returns to the truck to sleep. All is well.

Just made a setup that will handle the head sink and galley sink.

Looks good, now just add one more leg for the shower sump and it will be perfect. I really prefer my own shower to RV park showers.

Plumb it over to the black hose on the other side and you are home free.

You can make any configuration you want. We have the airhead so no issues there and I figured we can make the trek to the shower when needed, put another tee and you are set for the shower discharge. I used 7/8 OD - 5/8 ID. It fits nice an snugly into the thru-hull. I ordered up the other RV sewer attachments displayed in the previous posts so it is either direct to sewer or a 5 gallon bucket right below. Now to work on a portable A/C for summer travels!
