Hi - my first post. I just took delivery of a new R31CB. We had 4 inches of rain and when I opened the starboard lazaretto there was water on the metal shelving area. Is this normal or is it meant to be waterproof. I could see water below but assume that is normal. Port side and stern were dry, thanks Martin

Should be dry. My 2014 R31 CB has a sink located above the cabinet for the main breakers...what were they thinking....what could possibly go wrong by placing a water source above a high voltage compartment....anywho... The lazarettes should be dry. If you have a sink setup like mine, the water could be coming from a faulty seal around the sink or a loose hose clamp at the hot/ cold water tubes or the main sink drain.

Until I completely sealed my sink and turned off the hot and cold water lines, I would get puddles of water in that compartment and because there was a hole in the bottom of the compartment, the water would drip down onto my thruster and starter batteries....again...what were they thinking....and eventually down onto the floor of the lazzarette.

that is really helpful thanks - yes I have a sink there and I will check all the fittings

There's a silicon gasket around the inner lip of the sink.....that's a common point of failure. As a temporary fix, I've entirely covered the sink in a sheet of plastic.
