Steering question

Finally got to the boat with my phone. I've added a couple of pictures of my check valve installation in my album.
The steering continues to function properly without any issues. Switching between autopilot and manual steering is normal without the loss of steering issues I had previously.
From what I've been told, the check valve allows for the flow from the pump to the manual side of the system but does not allow for the flow from the manual side of the steering system to put back pressure on the pump. These one way valves are more robust than the valves contained in the autopilot pump itself, helping to relieve pressure on the pump.
So far so good. I'll let you know if things change.

I had the check valve kit installed a couple of weeks ago. It has made a big difference in steering, especially up above 10 kts. She's easy to turn to starboard now, and once turned, stays turned without having to keep turning the wheel. This was definitely a great upgrade as far as I'm concerned.

I know this is an old thread, but installation of the Garmin Check Valve on my 2015 C28 LE fixed the need to constantly steer to port (while autopilot was OFF) while traveling above 10knts or so. Part was $250 and install with fittings etc. was around $650. South West FL.

Thanks for the thread and recommended fix.
