Stern Thruster

Hi, I am a new (to me) 2007 Ranger 25SC owner.
My boat is in pristine condition, but the Stern Thruster has stopped working.
What are the steps I should follow to isolate the problem?
Is there a common first thing to check?

First, check the archives. There have been several threads on the thrusters that outline the trouble shooting steps.
Failing that, a call to Andrew at the factory.

Allen:

Two main problems:
1. Broken Shear Pin. When you activate the motor you will hear the motor spinning at a high rate of speed but no thrust. This means your shear pin is broken. You have to change it. If you have no shear pins, check the case of your bow thruster, there is a clip on the outside that has a spare.

2. No power at all. This is more difficult to diagnose, but there is an excellent report on this site that will get you there.

The first thing to determine is if the thruster powers up and runs or not. That will help point us in the right direction.
