I am finally living on Cascadia at Cap Sante in Anacortes this week and loving it!

It is quite the exercise to figure out where to put thIngs, isn't it? I have tried a variety of configurations and have gained a better appreciation of drawers and eye level cabinets! At the same time, it actually is feeling more spacious than I expected. By the end of the summer I expect to have a sense of what will seem worth bringing along; e.g. I had forgotten how cool it is in the evenings, for example, since I haven't camped lately.

I wonder where folks store items such as the camper back sections? The only thought I have is in the berth wrapped in towels, but am thinking that if two are sleeping there maybe some of you have found better places to keep them. Also I have the factory provided window/door covers and I was going to store them under the mattress but that will permanently crease them...suggestions?

It will be super next weekend to join the Tugnuts going to Fisherman's Wharf in Seattle and to be able to see how others store items. Also there are some Ranger Tugs here at the moment, 27's and 29's, and they will have different solutions, perhaps. I believe the folks from Colorado Springs, Douglas and Kay, who just arrived, are provisioning on their R25 for a 3 month trip to Alaska, so they will truly be judicious in how they configure storage!

I look forward to ideas!

Hi Anne, we have an R 27 and purchased muslin placing it between each curtain and rolling all together. I take double sided velcro to secure the rolls (two of them). we store the short roll under the v birth and the longer roll in the cave. They are protected this way and not to much of a hassle to get out in the event of crummy weather. Hope that helps, Michael of Shiraz Trader.

We will be spending a few months on the boat this summer and are carrying two car top carriers on the sport rack. I have fishing and sport gear in one and the other holds some spare items, future dirty laundry, and an occasional bag of garbage. One also carries the side enclosure when not in use.

Since we never fold our bimini top, I built a shelf that hangs just under the top of the bimini. We slide our side panels in to let them lay flat, no folding, no wrinkling and readily available for use. I will try to post pictures later today. Anne you can come over and check it out.

Thanks for the great suggestions!

Today when the rain started while I was tugging back to the marina it became clear that planning ahead OR having the pieces easily available was important. The cockpit got wet very quickly 🙂
