I'm trying to figure out a convenient way of stowing the cushion that goes on the dinette to make up the double berth. I have found two places on the boat where it can fit, mainly when the boat is at the dock: in the space between the passenger seat and the console (sticks out a little into the passageway); up against the window next to the passenger seat (just fits this space, out of the way, but obstructs side vision). Neither of these is very useful for cruising.
I've been wondering why not cut the cushion down the middle and make it into two sections. They could either just be separate pieces (the lip on the table top would probably hold them together), or they could be hinged, zipped or snapped together when needed. For my purposes, I'd porbably just go with two separate pieces. Then could then fit into a number of places quite easily, such as along the sides of the forward berth to provide extra backrests.
Was this done on later R-25's? Other useful tips or ideas on where to put this cushion?
