Oh the fun of boating life! Last night there was an intermittent buzzing in the head. I couldn't make out what was causing it but I was concerned it was coming from the toilet, perhaps some issue with the macerator. First I checked the instrument panel to make sure the bilge pumps hadn't switched on (though that's a different noise). Then I grabbed the fuse chart to start disabling things - more just to stop it so I could deal with it in the morning. I tried the head first and the noise stopped - not great and I'm already planning my attack for diagnosing the issue. After 20 minutes the buzzing came back! So next tried the shower sump pump - and no joy. Finally looking at the my toiletry kit I realized it my electric toothbrush! Apparently it was resting on the on/off button and it was muffled cause the kit was closed up. I'm passing this along in case, you know, it happens to someone else 😉

A great story! Thanks for sharing. It’s better than my saga of a strange recurrent beeping sound that I couldn’t find. The beeeping would start about 2 AM and by the time I was awake enough to investigate it would stop. It took the persistence of the first mate to finally realized it was the alarm on my watch going off. Oh what a laugh.
Beep,beep

My strange noise story happened back in 2003 when I purchased a new F-350 truck. I only had about 2000 miles on it when I heard a beeping sound I could not find any reason for the alarm and took it back to he dealer to fix. I was told it would be about a week before they had time to check it out, I was to leave for a trip the next day. I through a fit and demanded my money back or a new truck that was not beeping! The salesman, general manager and the shop Forman took my truck to the shop and about 30 minutes later delivered my new truck back to me with the beeping stoped! The salesman handed me a two-way radio that was under the seat which had a low battery alarm beeping and said if I would replace the batteries before bringing my truck back in next time he would appreciate it! I looked him square in the face and said that's why I buy from them because they put up with stupid old guys like me, and my next truck will be from them if they can put up with me! Bob

I've had ringing in the ears but never buzzing from the head (unless it was at one of those fraternity parties I have no recollection of). Oh, wait. You're talking about the bathroom on the boat. Never mind.

Had a similar buzzing coming from what sounded like the head or the drain sump. Puzzled and puzzled over it. It could only be heard when everything was very quite (like when your trying to fall asleep).

It turned out to be the sonar transducer. I had the Garmin on for the anchor drag feature...

Toothbrush buzzing in the head happened to us , also.
Searched and searched for the source if the buzzing. Disconnected the batteries, still buzzing. Checked the forum. Yep, found it. Thanks
