Subject: Stripper pole wires in the R-21EC

I had mentioned in another posting that there were wires running down inside the Stripper pole. Well yesterday I had the opportunity to actually see these wires on my R-21EC which is being built up at the Kent factory.

Ranger certainly uses all the real estate they can find in this Stripper pole.

wow, all the 'little' things we just take for granted...

Golly thats a BOAT LOAD of wires![emoji1]

The wires route from underneath the sink where the pole attaches. 😀

I'm being facetious about taking photos of all the wiring before things get covered up. I'll document the photos with captions indicating what is what as best I can to allow for future understanding if I have to make mods or resolve issues. 😉

My delivery has been pushed a week due to the Bimini and enclosure not being ready, as well as some extra work for the SmartPilot installation.

Boat name and WA registration numbers go on next Tues (per Dave's/SGIDAVE's recommendations for placement... Thanks Dave). 🙂

No stinking bottom paint for this boat thank goodness... will be trailering & keeping her at home with me, rather than keeping her at a Marina in salt water all year round.

On a serious note Barry, labeling the wires in the overhead would be nice. By that I mean, as they exit the 'stripper pole' and travel above the center overhead panel on their way to...wherever, it would be nice if they had labels. I've had my 21EC for 2 years and, in that time, I've had the center ceiling panel down at least 10 times. I know, that's a lot...but I do a LOT of mods. Knowing what's in that bundle (and exactly what is what) would be VERY helpful. I believe there are EXTRA unused wires in there which could be used (if only you knew WHICH ONES are presently unused).

The factory would probably...not be happy with the labeling request...but you could do it while everything is out if you took your label maker over to the factory and used their color coded guide/schematic.

In your last post, you said
I'm being facetious about taking...

Perhaps you meant fastidious? These 'F' words can be SO confusing? 😉

dave: The Factory does label the wires/cables. Here's a photo of a wire harness/bundle behind the refrigerator. The labels are yellow and sometimes white. It makes sense that the factory does label them as it makes life much easier to ensure the wires are all connected to their proper locations... it's called "cable management" and is a "best practice" for any industry.
