A question on the drip stuffing box. It has a water hose going into it from what looks like the heat exchanger. What is it's purpose? Does it mean the stuffing box is dripless? I just replaced the packing with that GFO dripless packing but still a little moisture under the adjustment lock nut so I probably should tighten it some more. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

It is not dripless. That hose provides additional water for cooling and lubtication. While the shaft is not turning you should have no drip. With the shaft turning you should get about 1 drip every 20 seconds. Do not over tighten. With new packing it can take a little time for it to wear in. After a few hours of run time check the drips and tighten as necessary.
