Fellow Shippers. We are new to our 25SC. Our tug came with the swim platform weaver davits. We wish to purchase a dingy to use to go ashore etc. wondering if we could get some help on what works best on the 25SC. Style, brand, size etc. rib? Inflateable? Solid??? We will b towing our boat if that affects your suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions. Bob and Pam Legg. SeaLeggs

We are happy with the factory supplied RIB with added straps for increased stability. We don't tow more than twice a year at local speeds though. Works good on the water. Rear visibility is somewhat impaired but not really a problem once you know your boat. Easy to get up and down for us.

Thank you. What brand type and size does factory sell???Extra straps where?? On weaver davits and do you hav the swim platform rails. Motor or just oar?? Bob

Our 2013 R25 came with a Portland Pudgy with weaver davits. We weren't sold at first, but quickly grew to appreciate this sturdy dinghy/setup. We really like the stability the davit system provides and the Pudgy tows really well. We tow a lot when we're just cruising and bopping around - sight seeing - because we like the open feel of the cockpit without having the dinghy blocking the aft view.

Here's a link if you want to check it out:

We "resemble" that remark. Do you mind me asking the price of the pudgy.....that sounds bad. Did you get it from ranger or pudgy. My boat already has the swim platform sie of weavers......would i hav to modify???

The factory dinghy is a Ranger Tug 260 RIB. It is a Ranger Tugs branded Zodiac as far as I know. We had a problem with the dinghy dragging in high seas at high speed. The link below describes is our solution which has worked well. We have a 6 hp motor and swim platform rails. It all works great for us.

The dinghy came with the boat - don't know the prices. Also don't know if you'd have to modify. You can check the Portand Pudgy website for more information http://www.portlandpudgy.com
