It's taken a while but I've finally purchased an iPad for Cocoa Gold. I'd appreciate any and all suggestions for free or not-so-free for apps/downloads.

I have a lot of space on this tablet. Let's fill 'er up!

Below is a copy of Capt.Mac's list foriPhone/ iPad Apps:

Navimatics with Active Captain - (Chart Plotter)
Navionics - (Chartplotter)
Blue Chart Mobile (Garmin)
Drag Queen - (anchor alarm)
NOAA Buoy Data Reader , real time buoy info, weather, radar, tides
Ship Finder - (AIS)
Marine Traffic – (AIS)
Boat Beacon – (AIS with intercept data, plus “transmit”)
Compass Eye
iPhone Apps - http://i-marineapps.blogspot.com/
iPhone/iPad.

I like iNavX as an alternate/backup chartplotter. It uses NOAA raster charts, I like the look of paper charts. It has a LOT of features. It can display internet based AIS. Garmin BCM is nice and has filters for Active Captain data, but I like the idea of an alternate chart source on the iPad (BCM is basically the same charting as our built in Garmin), this is where iNavX is nice.
For a quick weather radar display I use Hi-Def Radar. It is fast and is supposed to be efficient on bandwidth usage. You can zoom in much better than with the radar on BCM.
I also have copied PDF versions of the various operation and service manuals for pretty much everthing on my R27. I also installed Dropbox to sync files with my PC, such as a spreadsheet of spare parts I keep on board. Quickoffice can access this on the iPad.
