I made a sunbrella sun shade for the front hatch for my 21EC. It extends to cover the hatch for sun or rain and rolls up on the eye brow. Check out my album modifications for pictures. Color of mine matches the cockpit enclosure. Album is under Wanderer.

I've seen John's bow sun shade and have to say it looks very professionally made. In addition to blocking the sun it looked like it would shield the hatch from rain while still letting the warm fresh air we like to have moving into our boats during the hot summer months......which are right around the corner.

Yes the main reason was to allow the hatch to remain open during rain. Works well. Easy to deploy and roll up. Just make sure to duplicate the curve of the cabin when making the pattern. I used para cord and a SS grommets. Elastic cord to tension the cover came from a miniature bungy cord with clips on both end, cut in half.

It's a great addition to the tug, I like the Idea, like we talked about in a previous post!
