I just thought I would put this out to all the 49er fans. Colin Kaepernick is the starting QB for SF at the Super Bowl on Sunday. My Niece is a Kaepernick and she is the aunt of Colin by way of her husband, who is the brother of the adoptive father of Colin. Boy, how confusing. We will be watching the game and pulling for the 49ers.

Hey Bob,

That's awesome that you have family invested in the 49ers...but I'm sorry to say that the Ravens are taking the trophy this Sunday.

GO RAVENS!!! (And let it begin...)

Go COMMERCIALS!! Well, that's my favorite part of the SuperBowl. That, and the snack food that the Blonde makes. We will be land traveling on Sunday, and likely away from civilization... good thing we travel with satellite TV. 😉 And a full kitchen.

I do have a prediction: the winner will most assuredly be the team with the most points at the end of the game. Budweiser usually has the best commercials... of course, at $3.8 million for a 30 second ad, I'm guessing CBS will be the big winner.

I don't watch much football on TV because Sunday is generally a boating day... as is any other day ending in "Y". 😎

One of my favorite SuperBowl days was in 2007... we were cruising in the Florida Keys, buddy boating with friends Brent and Dixie (TomCat TC255). Anchored at Boot Key Harbor, we dinghied in and watched the Superbowl at the Overseas Bar - a buffet feed, big screen TV, and Joan won the raffle for the booze basket. We were very popular around the anchorage since we shared.

Enjoy the game!

Not to stir the proverbial pot or anything, but we think the east coast is gonna get a wonderful west coast introduction to football tomorrow. It is terrific that there are east coast souls showing some interest. <smile>

Bob, let's toast to your nephew, Colin, and his team mates on the eve of this very important national event.

Clink! Glug! Glug! Cheers!

What's a Super Bowl? We have a NFL team in this area called the Bengals but we're told that the season only consists of regular games.

Irishpilot,
Boy, thats about as harsh as it gets. I'll try to be as kind to you.

Well, I suppose we here in the San Francisco Bay Area should not be too greedy. We had perfect weather this week (enough that we got our R-27 out twice on the water). We have the world champion San Francisco Giants. And,but for one non-call by the refs, we would have the world champion 49ers. Just sharing with our east coast brethren.

We can't blame anything on the "real" Ref's now can we?

It was a great game that went down to the wire...about as good as you can ask for in a Superbowl!

Irishpilot,
You're right. It was a great game.
All the best,
Bob

I don't know if CBS made out as well as expected with a 35 minute unplanned extension to the game. The game was very interesting though. I wasn't really "for" either team as my team (Cowboys) wasn't playing. I am from California and my cousin played for the 9er's many years ago. We now live in Southern Maryland and the Raven's are a home team. It was a fun time and that is what counts. 😛
