Swim Platform Access

Got a crab pot float hung up in the prop yesterday. Sea state was extremely rough so putting on my suit and weight belt seemed too risky. Had BoatUS tow me to the lift and got it out there. I could see it through the small space between the transom and the swim deck, I just for the life of me could not get it out with such limited access. I was thinking that a large round deck plate could be installed on the platform just aft of the propane locker. This would allow great access to the running gear while on the water. Wondering if anyone else has made that kind of modification.

Not fun. Glad it turned out OK.

No you don't want to have any access holes. The swim platform internal structure is 1 sheet of plywood with support only at the edges. I have had to rework my platform to reinforce it. (previous owner issues)
