Swim Step Door Catch Part #

I’ve extensively searched this site as well as the web for the replacement stern swing door friction catch. I’m not yet smart enough to attach a photo, but the plastic two part catch. Best thread I’ve found on the forum talks about replacement with after market but nothing that specifies the original part. I’d prefer to do a simple swap of new original if possible. Living in Alaska there are not a lot of retailers to try things out so am ordering by mail. Is for a 2015 R27.

I believe that you can order a new catch directly from Ranger Tugs (contact parts@rangertugs.com) if you want to replace with the exact same part, but I personally had 2 of these plastic catches fail (they are cheap pieces of junk IMO), so the last time I replaced with this stainless steel catch-- which is much nicer and isn't going to break.

Replace it every 4 years or so as the springs get a bit rusty. Works just fine otherwise.

The original one broke and hit the cushion before latching. I replaced with a seadog latch and it works perfectly.

Misinger- Without taking measurements, did the sea dog replacement catch screw holes align with the existing holes from the factory catch? I personally like Just about anything from Sea Dog.
