Table Switch

Our 31CB also has switch. Dealer said never a factory option, surveyor said he saw one, maybe aftermarket.
 
Have you pulled the panel to see if there are wires hooked to the switch?
 
Do you have a light over the table?
On my 2012 29 it is for the ceiling light over the table, it has to be on & then the wall dimmer switch at the table will work.
 
I do have a dimmer light over the table, but it's controlled by a different switch. Haven't pulled the panel, could try that.
 
Our R29 doesn't have one, but as I recall, the 31s have a table on the bow. Is there a light or 12 volt socket there? How about near the cockpit table?
 
Great point, I'll check that out. The funny thing about that switch is that it's a momentary 3-way rocker switch that defaults to the middle of the three positions. The left is marked "0", and the right is marked "I". Normally that means on and off. But with it always returning to the middle position, it's like the default is a super-position or something. 🙂 You can momentarily turn it on, and momentarily turn it off, but if you walk away, it's....halfway on?
 
Maybe some models can electrically raise and lower the table? 1 = raise, 0 = lower. Something like that makes more sense for a momentary switch.
