Taking birds to Canada

We have a Ranger 29 which we just purchased in July 2011, and absolutely love it! We would like to join the July cruise
to Canada this year but we have three birds that always go boating with us and have been told (by customs agents in the San Juans) not to take our birds into Canada. So we are wondering if anyone out there has recently (in the past two years) taken their birds to Canada via their boat and what is the process. Any information about customs rules for birds would be
appreciated. We have parrots not chickens or ducks. Barb Harder

I think Bruce's idea is a good one but I would also talk to your vet, quite often they know what is required.
