Has anyone an effective procedure to ensure the mushroom style vents on Rangers are clear ? Perhaps a vacuum hose or water hose over the vent....

When I fill my tank I wait for the water to run out of the vent. At that juncture I assume it is clear otherwise water would not come out. I have the same vacuum sound when I open my fill cap. My assumption is that the vent line is looped and that if water is in the loop it is clogging the vent. However, I never looked inside to see if it is in fact looped. In any event I never had an issue drawing water. I would assume if the vacuum got that bad it would draw the trapped water from the vent. A lot of assumptions here. And we all know what happens when one assumes.

There was another post on this recently. I have a 29. I also fill the tank until water runs out the vent to make sure it is flushed with clean water. There is no loop in my vent line but there is a low section which causes a vacuum to form when drawing water from the tank. This vacuum caused the sides and top of the water tank to deform causing errors in the level gauge. To correct the problem I installed a small ball check valve in the top of the tank to allow air in but not let water out. Problem solved.
