Teak Oil Treatment Early R29

I’ve been reading treads about treating the teak. Before I embark on this adventure, I’d like to confirm with other R29 model owners what areas can be treated and what areas have a sealer.

Treatable: salon bulkheads, galley hatches, overhead trim strips and other overhead trim in salon and v-berth, v-berth bulkheads, dash, v-berth folding door, galley shelving and trim, Nav table.

Sealed. Not treatable: dinette table, all wood inside of the head.

I have a 27, but similar with finish. Any wood item that is smooth and shiny does not need oil treatment. You covered most of it in your list.

I agree with Knotflying. If it is shiny use a cleaning product. If it is not shiny then treat with teak oil. Furniture products like Pledge that have a bit of oil included can be used on both for for a quick update. For longer lasting restoration use the teak oil on the non-shiny stuff.

Note: When treating with teak oil apply it with a cloth, let it soak in, repeat, and then use a clean dry cloth to wipe it all off. There should be no oil sheen left on the surface. The oil is for the wood fiber only. If you let it dry on the surface it will look uneven and collect dirt.

What product do you use to bring back the shine of the galley teak and Holly floor

It depends on the condition of the floor. If it is just dirt buildup I recommend using water and vinegar. If it is scuffed up and/or the finish is generally worn you may have to lightly sand and refinish with a polyurethane or equivalent. I like Minwax Wipe On Polyurethane but I have never used it for a floor. You would need to use multiple coats.
