There seem to be many different kinds of teak oils with various applications on the market. Which ones work well on interior teak in the Ranger Tugs?

We have used Starbrite Teak oil for a while and it seems to do the trick. A 16 oz bottle has lasted years as we used it also on our previous boat. Just looked the stuff on Amazon it $18.99. No idea what the gangsters will charge for shipping.

I have used Semco oil for several years and it works fine. Easy to apply, when water fails to bead up apply another coat. Those that use it in the south say to last 6 months. Up north here it last a year. It does not build up, just re coat. Comes in several colors.

I use starbrite. have tried a few different ones and tried pledge orange oil too. I think the starbrite lasts the longest.

We use Pledge Revitalizing Oil with Orange on our interior teak. You can find on numerous online sites - but note that the product has been repackaged in several different ways. Here's a link to the product if you want to give it a try:

Very simple and no mess. You spray it on and wipe it in. Produces a great finish without oily residue. I know that this is not the same as teak oil, but for interior use, this is an easy way to treat the entire cabin in less than an hour. Treatment lasts us a full season.

Like SnugTug we use Pledge Revitalization Oil on our unfinished interior teak and have for 5 years and have been very happy with the results. The wood has a rich colored look to it and is easy to apply. We spray the oil onto a rag and then rub into the wood to help keep residual overspray from unwanted areas.

Are you using the standard Starbrite Teak Oil (white container) or the premium Starbrite Golden Teak Oil (brown bottle). Both have conflicting excellent and predictably scary reviews. I am intending to use the product on the floors of my C28.

Thanks,
Gary

Check out Semco oil for your teak. I use it on all unfinished teak and it keeps it looking like new. It is very popular with cruising sail boats in the tropics. Up in Canada it last at least a year. Easy to apply and it does not build up, peel or crack. They say if water still beads up on it then it does not need to be redone.

Seafin teak oil. Can't compare it to anything else, since it is all I have used on this boat, as well as the boat I owned before. I started using it on my last boat because the boat-builder recommended it. Have liked it on both boats, so have stuck with it. Very satisfied.
