Hi all, I want to select a tender for my cutwater 28 and there are a number of posts on Tugnuts about tenders. I thought it might be fun however to run a quick survey on the topic and see if there were some interesting pivots of tender use by location, use case, boat size and shore environment.

This is absolutely not for commercial use; just my own interest in helping me choose.

I will share the results here.

looks like most have the ranger tugs inflatable. I am surprised however with the number of folks with longer than 8'6 inflatables - doesn't this cause an issue docking when its wider than the boat? (excluding rooftop mounted kayaks)

I have a factory 290 RIB with Yamaha F4 for sale. Came with used R31CB and I do not want. All mounting included. Email bill46@cfl.rr.com for price and location.

I would hazard to guess that most of the owners of tenders over 8'6" have the larger Ranger Tugs with a 10' beam, so no issues when docking.

I would not have a dink longer than the beam of your boat. Especially if you want to transit locks. They will put you on either side with a moments notice. Rafting with other boats also could be an issue.
