Given this is our first season of boating (on our first boat), we're thinking about giving thanks by overnighting on Thanksgiving. We're moored in Elliott Bay Marina. Does anyone have any recommendations for a south-Sound destination? We'd like the amenities of a marina, and access to a good turkey dinner.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Cheers - Bruce & Vicki

Hi Bruce,
If you want a longer cruise, go to SwanTown Marina that is in Budd Inlet at Olympia. Marina is newer with restuarants a short walking distance. A shorter cruise would be Tacoma and you can tie up next to the Glass Museum and the Washington State History Museum. For a quick cruise, go to Gig Harbor; they have a free city dock (no power or water) and everything is within two or three blocks. Have a great time,

Thanks John. Those are all good ideas. We were thinking about visiting Gig Harbor. The weather changed our plans but we're still hoping to this weekend. Keeping an eye on the NOAA Marine Forecast. Yesterday it looked like Sat/Sun would be fine. Kind of deteriorating today.

Cheers,

Bruce
