Tomorrow morning our little beauty TugBug will be launched in Edmonds, starting our new adventures on the water. It's been a long (but relatively short) road to get to this point but here we are and in less than 24 hours we'll have our brand new Ranger Tug!

And in less than 48 hours, we're headed to the locks! Out of the frying pan and into... the water? 🙂

We are turning into a Volvo family for sure.... So the 'new' R-21EC is now being equipped with the Volvo Penta D1-30 engine.... Nice. 🙂 Does it have the e-Key feature ?

Welcome aboard Paul and Sunny from a fellow Newbie!

I'm sure you'll love your Ranger. Mine has been here just over a week and absolutely love it. There is an almost zen like feeling piloting these little tugs on a rainy day (while staying warm, dry and with coffee in hand).

Welcome to the Tugnut family Paul, Sunny and Titan. Let us know how everything went on your maiden voyage and ask away if you have any questions.

News to me that the R21 is now going to be powered by a Volvo. At the boat show in January, the factory seemed committed to keeping the Yanmar in it. But I'm sure that, by going to Volvo in the rest of the line, the relationship with Volvo is tight, and not so much with Yanmar. No word of that change on the website that I could see, but I'm sure that will happen. We saw TugBug at the factory, 99% done, when we were there to see our boat mid-production. I didn't realize that, in addition to being a looker, she is also the new trend-setter. Exciting!

Was there for Paul & Sunny early today when Kenny arrived with their new TugBug R-21EC. No doubt about it... there's a Volvo Penta D31-30 in that boat. It sounded sweet. Paul & Sunny were very excited and now having an all-day fun on the water with Kenny on hand.

Volvo is now standard in the R21EC. The 30hp Yanmar was a great one. Both engines are very comparable.

Well, we completed our orientation, amused Kenny, didn't break anything or crashed into anything, and we even introduced Titan to the boat today. Boy do we have a lot to learn, but it's going to be fun! The biggest challenge? Docking, followed by general steering and rudder control. Practice practice!

Paul and Sunny, congrats! We do our orientation with Kenny tomorrow. Then Capt Mac on Saturday. Perhaps you will be there with Capt Mac tomorrow? If you are at the Des Moines marina dock, perhaps well see you.

Well be looking for TugBug. Keep your eyes peeled for Echo. both are Forest green, so they are kindred spirits.

Congrats Gini, and enjoy the orientation. Kenny does good work.
