On one of the sailing forums I read, the discussion of "the iPad as a chartplotter" came up yet again. :roll: One guy received an iPad as a gift, but it is wifi only; he wanted to know if he should exchange it for one with 3G/4G capability...
and someone in the Apple Store told him, "No iPad has a built-in GPS".
Of course, that is incorrect. Seems that the "Geniuses" in the Apple Store may not know everything. 😉
And that led to this...
From now on, whenever anyone asks if the iPad really has a GPS chip and can be used as a chartplotter, I'll refer them to this post...
