Subject: The R-27/OB's center cockpit locker is simply huge

I continue to be amazed at how much storage space this new R-27/OB has. Here's a list...

1) Cabin: One large storage area under stove with pull up floor for even more stuff
2) Cabin: Two large stacked storage lockers forward of stove and under sink with pull up floor panel on lower one
3) Three draws under counter forward of sink with a locker underneath the 3rd lower draw with pull up floor panel
4) Deep storage locker underneath step for Nav Seating
5) The cabin's Cave under aft dinette seat/dinette table and under Microwave - made more accessible when lifting the aft seat. Shelving areas at aft end of cave at cockpit bulkhead
6) Cloth hanging closet at entrance to forward saloon
7) Double shelves holding stock coffee maker
8) One larger locker and two pull draws at base of cloth hanger and shelves
9) Open shelf at base of the closet/draws
10) Storage under forward saloon's side bunks as well as under the up/down table insert
11) Storage under forward saloons bow located cushion and access to bow thruster
12) Shelf surrounding the complete port and starboard V-berth above bolsters
13) Two large lockers (under sink and behind the toilet) in the head enclosure and shelving along starboard side below port
light
14) Cockpit side lockers
15) The huge cockpit center locker --- Inside this huge locker I have two full size EXTRA black fenders (I have the 4 stock black fenders with two on stowed on gunnels outside of helm/Nav windows and two aft ones at rear cockpit corners attached to the chrome poles supporting the cockpit canopy - so I have a total of 6 large black fenders in all), large non-collapsable Crab pot with its three buoys one of which is as large as a full size black fender, 100' lead line, two sets of kayak paddles, a manual hand operated pump, a rolled up USA flag pole + flag for the transom, two large umbrella's needed for the drizzly PNW area, AND 1st Mate's wheel chair -- Woweee. 😱
16) Storage area under electric grill in transom
17) Storage area to port side of the propane tank's locker
18) Cabin refrigerator which is a very nice reasonable size
19) Cockpit's smaller Refrigerator option
20) Space on rear platform adjacent to the hand rail at the transom door area
21) Cabin roof to either side of the solar panel (I have a 12.5 foot long inflatable SeaEagle 385ft FastTrack kayak up there)
22) Very wide gunnels on port/starboard sides of cockpit - wide enough to place your bum on for extended periods
23) Downrigger pads; one of mine has an installed Brutus crab pot hauler that can be oriented to be parallel to the gunnel with it's extended arm folded & locked down to minimize its size.

I think that's it..... A lot of storage space IMO and the cockpit's center locker continues to amaze me as to how much stuff it can hold.

I also have a series of RobShip canvas & web cases that have generous number of good sized suction cups for them to be adhered to many of the open spaces on the smooth vertical walls of the cabin liner. I have two under and on ether side of dinette table seating, one in front of the Nav seat, one under the helm and finally a roving one that I use in the cockpit area at times. One of these cases holds all my boat's official paper work such as Registrations, COD, some User Manuals, a few paper charts and small tools (wrench/screwdriver/sharp knife/short range walkie-talkie devices and so on.

I'm impressed with how much storage space has been designed into this R-27/OB model.

Barry, I continue to follow all your posts with a bit of envy. I get the definite impression you like your new boat! Very cool.... 😀

Rob: Yea.... 3rd time lucky as they say. It's a very 'sweet' boat for sure, and has started to be the envy of the Captains around me at my marina dock. My boat sticks out bit in its 28-foot slip and the marina may want me to move to a longer slip.... but so far they've not bothered me. My son insists on paying for the slip as he wants me to keep the boat in the water and not on a trailer etc..... (I wonder why ???? ) The neighbors at my dock/slip will be sad to see me move on to another slip.
