I have 2011 R-27 with Yanmar 4BY2-180 engine

Can you tell me brand and part number for original throttle control? Teleflex, now Seastar Solutions?
I understand it is electronic throttle control and cable shift

Do you know of suitable 'hybrid' replacement?

Hi Jeff, it looks like you have already emailed our parts department and received a response there. I would agree that this is the best pathway to getting the answers you are looking for. Here is the link to finding the a dealer near you: https://www.yanmar.com/us/dealerlocator/

Response:

Hi Jeff,

You will want to reach out to a local Yanmar dealer - they have proven to be the best resource for Yanmar parts.

Very best,

Yes, any call to Yanmar USA support in Florida directs you Boatswain's Locker in SoCal, who try to help but ultimately do not have the necessary info because they are a dealer and not the manufacturer. I had to play detective and sleuth out info myself.

I will post further info here to help anyone with Yanmar engine thinking about replacing throttle control.
Throttle control unit for Yanmar engines was manufactured by Teleflex. Teleflex was bought by SeaStar Solutions, which was then bought by Dometic.
The throttle control unit is unusual in that it is 'hybrid', as Andrew responded on this forum years ago. The throttle control is electronic and the shift control is mechanical, using cable.
Dometic support did call me back and was very helpful. These 'hybrid' throttle control units were custom made per manufacturers, i.e. Ranger Tugs & Yanmar, specs.
He said they also currently do this for ski boat manufacturers. They can still produce a 'hybrid' version of their Xtreme control unit, no trim switch, top mount, and electronic throttle with cable controlled shift. The electronic throttle control sending unit does need to be sent to Marine Power USA to be programmed to match engine so voltage matches rpm correctly.
