thru hul sealant

I have a leak in the exhaust thru hull fitting. Can you tell me what type of sealant was used or what type I should use to reseal?

Hi there
We use a urethane sealant on the thru hulls. You can use a 4500 or even 5200 to reseal the thru hulls.

I would not use 5200, it is too permanent. You can use 4200 or Life Seal.

Razor blade type scraper. If you have bottom paint it will need to be ground/sanded back so the sealant gets a good purchase to the hull. Of course, then touch up the bottom paint.
