Could anyone tell me what this special tool i'm looking for is ? I don't remember seeing a tool in my bags . Is it a actual tool made by the thruster company ? If anyone has a picture of what i am looking for , that would be a great help . I don't have a problem yet , but want to be prepared . thanks everyone

It is actually the Chapman CM-13 mini ratchet made by Chapman manufacturing you just use the appropriate bit.

Hello Dave,

As Stuart gave the name of the 'tool'...this is what it looks like

As well as the rachet shown you need the bit, I think it's a 9mm (could be 6)
At the Roche Harbour rendevous last year I had a chance to talk with the Side Power rep.
Not only do you need the correct bit, it has to be ground down, which they custom do (they take about 1/4" in length off).
I have the appropriate bit ground down, and it fits, I tested it.
I also have a mini rachet, very similar, with the correct bit (not ground down) and it does NOT fit, it's too long.
I am only speaking for the R27 rear thruster.

Hi Folks,

Does anyone know if you need the special tool for the front thruster on a 2010 R21EC ? I know I didn't get one in our bag of tricks with out boat.

Thanks

Thanks everyone , i did get down to the boat and found the thruster ratchet in the zipper pouch of one of the Ranger bags . Now that i have the ratchet and 2 spare shear pins i hope i never need to use them !

yes

Could someone be kind enough to confirm the size and the length of the socket (after being ground down) so that I can try to source a similar product here in Australia. I do have some small socket sets but they all maybe too long.
I have to remove my front thruster because it is not working.

Thanks

Geoff

I just bought a 1/4 drive with a 6mm allen key socket. Works great

Thank you, I have a set of 1/4 drive and set of Allen key sockets.

I appreciate your help. This is a job high on my to do list.

Regards

Geoff
