2007 R21 EC would like to install thrusters. Like to hear pros /con, Brands and best place to purchase. Thanks Warren

Yes, important consideration. If installing a bow thruster on the R21, insure that when the thruster 110 mm tube/tunnel is drilled thru and glassed, that a drainage channel is provided for, that will drain from the bow aftward, underneath the tunnel just a few inches to drain into the forward bilge area. Otherwise a pool of water is trapped on the forward/high side of the thruster tube which lies underneath the thruster motor and constantly keeps the thruster motor, mounting clamps and electricals wet. I had my original corroded Vetus thruster replaced by Vetus in Merritt Island, FL. Vetus drilled the drain just underneath the existing tunnel that was glassed in from the factory. My new thruster stays dry and I periodically give it a shot of Corrosion X. Also, epoxy wire stays to secure the appropriate gauge power cable from battery to motor to inhibit wire chaffing. I also added a second bilge pump to the forward bilge as a back up. Vetus also has traveling installation teams.

I wonder if the thruster installed by the factory have a drain like you explained?
