Just out dodging all the ice flows and wanted to heat up the turbo .. Broke my old speed record Just did a run and hit 24.5 MPH.... 🙂 bring out the water skis !!

I have been in the water 2 weeks and this is my first power boat in 24 yrs. I hit 18 kts so far. I'm goin for 20 kts next time. What size engine is in the R29? What's the max. RPM?

Mine has the Yanmar 260 HP the rpm at WOT is 4,000 .. There was a bit of a tail wind 🙂

I got to 20 mph in my 30 HP R21-EC one time. But I had a heavy tail wind and was surfing off some big waves. 😉 Exhilarating !

18 Knots speed over ground in the R-27 is about what I get at WOT. Perhaps with a good wind and current behind you and little supplies you can do better. Or you can switch to MPH and you will get 20.7

I'd have to be going over a waterfall to get that top speed. Maybe 16 knots at 3900 rpm. I wonder how much the RIB on the back with the water sloshing up on it slows me down? Any thoughts?

Probably a good loss of speed. Remember weight and especially where it is can be a big factor. Although the hulls are semi-displacement, if you have rear weight and the bow can't get down you will be fighting a loosing battle.

Our boat has a recorded speed of 28 mph in it but we have only been to 25 with it. Right conditions, right attitude and right load on board.

I got an R 21 EC near 75 mph once...........
That's right , on the trailer !

Yes. I never thought about gear. I had nothing on the boat. Now we're loaded up, I guess 18 kts is all I can expect.
