How does one recharge the Torqeedo 1000?
If you are on the hook and you return to the "mothership" with an almost depleted Torqeedo battery,
how do you re-charge this battery?
What are the choices, 12 volt on board battery supply, 110 volt through an Inverter, fire up the noisy Genset, find a marina for shore power and then how long does it take?

You've listed almost all the options. A 12V adaptor is available from a third party for some models. I don't know how long it takes to completely charge a near-depleted battery, but most likely longer thank 110 which takes several hours (about 10, although I've never had to recharge from empty).

Torqeedo also sells a dedicated roll-up solar charger which is said to be faster than 110. In fact, it the Torqeedo can run indefinitely on the power supplied by the panel, provided there's enough sun. Available through WM.

We keep ours charging whenever we're in a marina, so we always leave home with a full charge. Even after two or three days on the hook we've never run it below 30-40%. When moving from anchorage to anchorage we charge it through the inverter while underway. The battery has no problem being repeated topped off, and it holds it's charge well even when not used for a long time.

Cheers,

Bruce

I Made up a charging cord to plug into a 12 volt outlet. All you need is a male end for the 12V and an appropriate plug for the torqeedo battery. solder your wires and you are done. Just make sure you use the proper polarity when you are attaching the wires to the plugs. When ever I return to the mother ship I just plug her in and top her off.

Thank you gentlemen.

That is reassuring, especially the charging time.
