Bought used about 9 months ago, About to start the Great loop. Wondering why a Ranger "TUG". does not have a tow bit? How are you set up to tow a dinghy? I have 2 tiedown "U" through hull bolts but they sit under the swim platform, I assume these were for anchor straps for trailering. I know the 2 aft cleats could be rigged with some bridal, but it would be non friendly for the swim platform, and they are on the top cap so not as solid as the bottom hull section. Thoughts?

I towed my West Marine hard dinghy (105lbs) for the 1400 mile portion of the loop that I did last year in my R27. I used two 60 ft lines from the stern cleats to the bow eye of the dinghy. Biggest aggravation I had was running back from the helm to pull the dinghy up close to the swim step when maneuvering; didn't want to run over the tow line> no problems with drag, the dinghy followed along well, no issues with weather other than it becoming a bathtub in the torrential rains I encountered.IMG_0668.JPGIMG_0774.JPGIMG_0708.JPG
