Trailer Connection Question

I just purchased an R-27 with a Float On Trailer.

The trailer has two wiring connectors a 5 pole flat and a 7 pole round. I have done a ton of towing, but have yet to see this set up.

Wondering why the two connectors?

Likely, the 7 round is for the trailer lighting and the 5 flat is for the boat "lighting". As you know, these boats are wired to support on-road safety with built in trailer lights.

Look in your anchor locker to discover the 5 flat connector. The previous owner probably had a system to connect to the boat to the trailer. We have such a system however, we use a junction box mounted on the trailer with the 5 flat connector wired into the trailer's system and use a pig-tail connector to the boat.
