Hi all
I am looking in the forum to find trailer specs for a trailer suitable for towing an R-29 but can’t find any.
I was hoping someone who has a trailer can help me with specs like lenght - witdh - payload - maker etc

Thanks in advance

Martin

EZ Loader in Spokane, WA and Float-On in Vero Beach FL both build aluminum trailers to Ranger Tug R-29 specifications. Reach out them and they should be able to help you.

Martin,
The trailers for Fluid Motion boats are pretty much custom designed to fit the unique FM boats hull profiles. You usually can’t just buy a generic trailer off a lot and adjust it to fit a RT hull. That said, there are a number of trailer builders that can build a trailer for a R-29. Used trailers built for a R-29 do come available from time to time if you are not in any hurry.
And shipping a new or used trailer to Norway is a whole different issue in itself!
You definitely need a triple axle trailer for a boat that size. My wild as* guess is that you will need a trailer capable of handling a 12,000 to 13,000 load. Total weight of boat and trailer could be in the 14,000 to 16,000 pound range but that’s a guess based on my C-28’s towed weight of 12,600 pounds. I’m sure others on the forum could give you a closer estimate on the weights.
I think you would be well advised to be looking at a 1 ton truck to tow it with.

When I pulled my boat out the lift had a scale. Came in at 14000 with 1/2 fuel and water.

When we had our 2014 R29 brought up from the Chesapeake to Lake Erie I asked the trucker what it weighed. He said 14,400 pounds. That is with about 100 gallons fuel and half a tank of water. And at least a few hundred pounds of gear. I went with the tri axle 18,000 pound rated trailer from Loadmaster in western Ohio. The difference between that and a lower rated one were the tires. It is all steel construction with torsion bar suspension. Rides nice. Loadmaster knew the dimensions for the boat having built for them previously.

If you buy a trailer, make sure that they sell you the correct load rating. Also not a tire from China. I
