We are trailering Kismet to Portland Oregon soon, with plans made to stay at Salpare Bay Marina for 6 weeks. Does anyone have local knowledge about a storage lot/yard close to Hayden Island, for storing our trailer?

Columbia Crossings probably has a spot nearby. I think they have a couple of storage lots on Hayden Island.
You probably know the nearest launch ramp is across the river in Vancouver, or the Glisan ramp on Marine Drive near PDX.

Thanks Oregon Trail for the storage idea. I did use the ramp by PDX 2 years ago, just after it opened....very nice, lots of day parking, turning ability and great ramp pads and docks.

Jim,
Noticed your request for info on parking near Hayden Island. Your moorage at Hayden Island is approximately 3 blocks or so from Sundance Marina which is directly across from your marina. They have a lift and possibly trailer storage available. Their phone number is 503-283-3216 and they are a new Cutwater dealer for Oregon. They be able to accomodate you. Let us know how it goes.

Amen to Dave's suggestion of Sundance. We berthed there for the last two years and are now moving to Multnomah channel location simply because that is closer to our usual cruising grounds. Sundance are great folks and are very likely to store your trailer.

Jim-

You are welcome to store your trailer at our house again.

Salpare now has a "health club" as the condo's (apartments) now are built. No more little Beirut. The fees are crazy for the club use. Negotiate! You might want to talk to Sundance. There is now a lot more traffic at Salpare Bay with the apartments. Sundance also has a locking gate. I'm not sure if they allow liveaboard at Sundance.

Thanks everyone. I've talked with Sundance, they will not work for various reasons. I do have a call into Columbia Crossings on Hayden Island and have also found Bunch's RV and Boat Storage (just west of downtown) to have a nice place and good rates. Thanks David for your offer however I'll need a storage place that will also be able to handle the size of our trailered boat when we return to Michigan for a couple of months, after our time on the Columbia. We do look forward to seeing you again.
