Hi Folks,
any thoughts on the type of trailer I need to buy for the R-27 ?
Thanks, John

After a couple of thousand miles including 6 & 7% grades, multiple crossings of 11,000 mountain passes and Wyoming crosswinds, very pleased with EZLoader RT supplied with R27. Dual axle, electric/hydraulic disc brakes

Hello John,

I guess this depends on which Ranger 27. The diesel was fine with the dual axle trailer but the outboard version with the weight further back required a triple. Both EZ loader models trailer VERY nicely.

Thank you

Most 25s and 27s are on two axle trailers which is what i carried my 25 on until I switched to a three axle. Night and day difference in towing, worthwhile increase in braking ability and safety factor regarding carrying capacity.

Hydraulic over electric disk brakes, oil bath bearings, LED lights, remote tire pressure senders are the way to go.

Tugnnaweigh, I suspect you meant to say electric over hydraulic... with all the other features you mentioned, is the ideal setup. Whereas some boat/trailer configurations allow for surge breaks, I can tell you if you ever plan to trailer into Canada, at least by way of BC, surge brakes on rigs above 6000# + are not permitted. Listen to Andrew, he'll never steer you wrong!

I have had a Float-on Trailer since 2011. What I like is that it is all aluminum and stainless. And as the name says, the boat just floats on. Company service is also great. Highly recommend the electric over hydraulic. They are much better with towing down hills and you can control the reaction time. I have towed my boat over 30,000 miles without trailer issues. They are located in Vero Beach, FL

My vote is for Float on trailers also. We had excellent performance towing for close to 20,000 miles. They are made for use in salt water and are competitive in their pricing.

Call the trailer manufacturers. Talk to the engineers or staff that designs the trailers. Ask them about their experiences building trailers for Ranger Tugs. The Classics have a deep rear keel that requires special bowed rear crossmembers to keep the boat low on the trailer.
Having a manufacturer or dealer close to you that can do a custom final fitting would be a real plus. Even thought the manufacturer has done your model before, significant adjustments might be needed.
