Metric Rider.....in your initial post you asked at the end of your posts for "any tips on loading would be appreciated". I may have one for you. I've always, for three years, found it troublesome but doable loading our R27 then having to use the braking method of inching the boat up to the winch stanchion. Maybe this has been discussed before but I thought I'd share what is a new find for me for making the loading much smoother.
I bought a10 0z spray can of "Liguid Rollers" made by MaryKate CRC Industries. I sprayed the dry bunks on my trailer, let it dry and when I loaded the boat I found it much much easier to crank the boat up to the winch. After coming out of the water I still had to do a light tap of the brakes and the boat slid up very nicely so I could then finish securing things. Granted this was the first in and out trip, time will tell how long the "Liquid Rollers" holds up before the bunks need sprayed again. At any rate this product made the first loading a much easier and stress free situation as compared to jamming on the brakes to hope the boat slides up without any difficulties or additional wear and tear on the equipment. Anyone else use "Liquid Rollers" and have additional thoughts?
I bought mine at West Marine.
