HI tugnuts,

Soundings Magazine is working on an article about trailerable cruising boats. They are looking for photos of our boats in pretty locations. Does anyone have a hi-res photo or two that they would consider sharing for that article? We don't get to choose which photos they do or don't use but we can provide a selection and hope that they use one or more of them. They are on deadline and need the photo asap. If you have something you don't mind sharing, please email it to me at sambisset@fluidmotionmarine.com. If the file is too big to email, you can share it via our dropbox. Thanks!

Sam

Is it safe to assume you are looking for photos of the current production models?

Hi Vicki and Al, any year/any model will work great for this. PMY just published several photos of the Favor's R-27 classic and it still looks fantastic and reads very well. thanks!

Sam, Favor has some fantastic shots with beautiful backgrounds. Hard to top theirs. I have one unusual photo I’ll email you. Pretty sure it’s not what they are looking for but…..

okay I've been getting some awesome photos, thank you! I re-read my post and now realize that I left out a key piece of information... they are looking for photos of the boats ON the trailer. If you have a good trailer shot, send it my way. much appreciated!

FYI- Those photos of the Favors’ R27 Classic are pretty old. I have owned their former R27 Classic for eight years— since April of 2017. I’ll send you a nice picture of what that R27 looks like now with an R31CB anchored behind it at The Pool at the end of Baie Fine on the North Channel of Lake Huron. It’s a classic cruising scene.

Hi Sam,
This is a shot of our 28 Cutwater on our first trip over the Cascades-heading home to Minnesota. (Still snow in the background mountains) We purchased the boat used in Auburn in June of 2021. Subsequently we have trailered to the east coast to do the 3000 mile DownEast Loop. Last year we did west coast—Snake/Columbia, then trailered up to San Juans for a bit before heading back to Minnesota. Next month we will be at Jim Favors Rendezvous in Mackinaw City. Thank you everyone! This was so awesome, I love seeing what everyone is up to. I sent these in to Soundings, we'll see if she uses any of them. thanks again!

Ahoy Torpedo! Sure was surprised to see that you have a trolling motor.. I have been wanting to go offshore and do some bottom fishing, but wondered how to go about installing a trolling motor. Could you tell me as to the model, shaft length and power hook up?
I have a 2024 R27 OB, and I’m in Florida atlantic side

Late response I know as I have been away. Anyhow, glad you noticed the trolling motor (Minn Kota Riptide Instinct Quest 87” Shaft 100lb Thrust). Install was not too difficult though I needed to close off the port side anchor locker hatch with fasteners to gain more floor support. Actually, the most difficult psychological part of the install was cutting the rail for fear I would really weaken the entire bow rail system but with a strong rail hinge and forked gate end cap, I gained most of the original bow rail strength back. Had a MK Ulterra auto deploy trolling motor on a pontoon boat for years. The auto stow & deploy feature spoiled me good and just had to have that same feature on my new used Tug. It works great! Can’t believe how many people remark about Tug AND the trolling motor at the launch ramps. It is a 24 volt system utilizing AGM’s under the forward starboard bunk. Spend most of my time on Georgia lakes primarily Lake Lanier by Atlanta. Easy launch and retrieve by myself with trolling motor. I have a few videos I could send but not sure how to do so thru this site. Let me know if you are interested in videos and will figure something outIMG_5373.jpeg. Best Regards, Jim N

Can’t seem to get videos sent to help see the bow rail alterations ….. don’t know why at the moment, perhaps files are too large. IMG_5902.jpeg
