I’m not reading depths at idle or slow speed. Once I get up to cruising speeds I will have depth readings. Garmin thinks it’s a transducer angle problem. Meaning as the vessel angles up while cruising, the transducer becomes perpendicular to the bottom allowing it to pick the return signal. I’m on boat number seven in 30 years and have never had this happen? Anyway, I looked externally for the transducer and was surprised there isn’t a thru-hull mount. Looked inside, but so far haven’t located it. Anybody know where it is located on the Cutwater 28? By the way, I have tried adjustments such as, auto depth and manual. Also, changing from 200kHz to 50kHz to no avail.

P79 Airmar transducer. Should be located under the floor as you step down into the V berth area next to the shower sump. It should be a wet cup install. Confirm fluid level is correct and o-ring is installed. There was just a post this week dealing with a similar issue not exact but could be related to low fluid level in the cup. I would start there.
