I'm looking for recommendations for a company that can transport the R31 cross country. The boat does not have a trailer so I have two questions: Is there anybody who has a dedicated Ranger trailer that can do this? Can or should I hire a boat moving trucking outfit? Because of the nature of the lightweight / thin hull, the dedicated Ranger trailer is necessary rather than relying on some kind of "universal" rig that might not provide adequate support? I understand this requires permits and nor do I have a big enough truck myself. Options?

I used Joule Yacht Transport to transport my R31CB. It was only across the state, but they are a national hauler. Did a great job. Scheduling with yards for loading and unloading, and prepping the boat is up to you.

Try searching through this forum on a key word like “transport.” I think you’ll find that lots of forum users with all sizes of Ranger Tugs and Cutwaters have used commercial transport services with success for both shorter and longer transports. In at least some past threads, folks have recommended specific services that may be helpful to you. I’m not aware of our hulls being unusually lightweight or thin. Probably depends on what you are comparing them to. But the bottom line, I think, is that there is no structural issue with Ranger Tugs that make them unsuited for a competent commercial transport service. Good luck!
