Trash Compactor

Hello, I was talking with a friend the other day who purchased a different used boat. He was telling me that it had a trash compactor which seemed to him completely unnecessary and now he is so glad that he has it and it is very useful. I would like to do some extended cruising to SE Alaska and this seems like a good upgrade. Has anyone installed one of these in a 31 or another model? Any photos of where you located it?

Think about it this way, a trash compactor will always be the same size if full or empty. You can crush cans and containers with your hands and accumulate garbage until the next port and start over. And when back to regular cruising do the same thing. Or when back to regular cruising look at all that space your rarely used trash compactor is using. 😀

On another boat that we owned we had a manual trash compactor that worked well for us. A newer version is now available from "Welcome Aboard."
