Trip from RI to FLA

Hi all,
My wife Kathleen and I,Chris, are the new owners of a pristine 2018 R23,”Toot Suite”. We will trailer her to Florida for the month of Feb, which we did with our previous boat. We’re thinking of trying to avoid driving down in January with the boat having been winterized and shrink wrapped. Any recommendations for maybe where to leave boat and tow vehicle for 4-6 weeks. Needs to be near an airport and hopefully out of winter weather. If anyone has thoughts or advice, we’d love to know. Thanks in advance and see you on the water!

Where do you plan on going in Florida? Maybe bite the bullet and bring it all the way down. The cost of plane fare differential can't be that significant. The next question, if not all the way to Florida how far do you plan on going? That would give insight on possible places to store.
 
Thanks. Ultimate destination is Marco Island Florida, just South of Naples. May be cheaper to winterize and shrink wrap and then bring down in January versus two of us flying back from an interim destination and then flying back down to pick up car and boat, Either way, part way down or all the way down, it’s basically round trip air.

Maybe you already did this but check an airline like allegiant that is lower fair. They only fly in and out of smaller airports which is nice. I see they fly out of providence area and into ft myers area. If you can leave any baggage on the boat you will not pay for baggage chargges.
No shrink wrapping considerations in FL ( Don't tell anyone).
I am not familiar with storage on that side.

If you are military, active duty, reserve, or retired, MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa has a very nice marina and storage area.
As stated earlier, if you take the boat down now, you can avoid winterizing and shrink wrapping.
 
If it were me, I would pass on winterizing and tow to at least Savannah, GA. Savannah has a nice airport, plenty of marinas which I'm sure would store you boat and truck. Uber back to the airport, fly home, fly back uber to the marina and head south.
Be sure to take 301 south, bypass Baltimore and DC. Pick up 301 in Delaware last exit before the toll on 95 S. Exit 1A for 896, takes you right to 301. 301 and 50 merge about 10 miles from the Bay Bridge. 301 exits a little ways after the Bay bridge. 301 will take you just north of Richmond, and it's a nice relaxing ride. I just towed back from Pocket Yachts' maintenance shop one mile from the Bay Bridge 2.5 hrs to Jackson, NJ. 65 MPH the whole way.

My wife and I used to winter on the boat in Florida. In the fall we used to drive down to a spot part way down and cruise and then leave the boat. We would drive back to RI and then after the holidays drive back and pick up the boat. Myrtle Beach might be a good spot. Try calling mariner point marina. There is a ramp nearby and they may be able to store the boat on the trailer. Their number is 843-249-0171.

R-23 on a Venture trailer. I have a Daughter living in Pooler GA just outside Savannah. I hope to tow down for Spring break and explore the water around Savannah.

BTW, I tow with a Silverado 1500 5.3. I have to stop for gas every 2-2.5 hrs. Get the blader on the same schedule and life is good!
 
I have also stored my boat at Sail Harbor Boat a yard 606 Wilmington Island Rd
Savannah, GA 31410-3807 912-897-2896. Very nice people.
