Hello everyone! Long time lurker now actively looking for a R31S. First question. How do I get my 40lb kayak on the roof of a R31S?

Thanks,
Ron

We have a C28 and have two kayaks on the roof racks. To load we pull the kayaks to the bow with ropes on front and back also have bumpers down and then pull up the kayaks my wife at the front and me at the back and hoist up. I grab it and pull it on the handrails and then we walk back putting it on the pads and push it up and on. I am walking on the side and my wife walks up past the hatches. First time a little tricky but once you have done it a couple of times pretty easy. Our kayaks are 12 feet 10 inches long and weigh about forty pounds. Hope this helps

With our R31 we would have one person on the roof and another person in the cockpit. Attach a rope to the front of the kayak and pass to the person on the roof. Person on the roof would start to lift the bow of the kayak while the person in the cockpit would lift the stern. Place kayak in rack and strap down.
Ours are 15'5" long and 55 lbs. 40lbs should be easily manageable.

Both great solutions — thank you. Now I may need to find an Admiral to make it all work.

I would check out a Dinghy Hoist system as they are a whole lot cheaper than a Admiral in the long run! Just my 2 & 1/2 cents from experience! Bob
