Wow, what a weekend! 42 Ranger Tugs in one location for 3 days! (four days if you consider the fact that half the boats came in on Thursday!) The plans for 2011 are now moving along.
Once again, Bremerton has been selected as the location for "Tug Fest 2011". The dates will be September 9th, 10th, and 11th. There will be a charge of $15.00 per vessel collected at registration.
As with any large function such as this, immediately afterwords, you start looking at what you can improve. While it is fresh in your mind, please let us know what you would like to see done differently, added too, taken away, etc. The one thing that I saw during the weekend, we tried to squeeze to much into Saturday. So, in 2011, we will start the activities sometime on Friday. The start time will be determined by the number of people that choose to come in on Thursday.
Through out the year, we all take pictures of our tugs as well as others. So, as we move forward, I would like to invite everyone to submit a photo that you feel is worthy of being used on the 2011 banner. Email me your photos at davidbakermdbs@aol.com .
The sign up process will remain simple. Do it right here on Tug Nuts. Please just include the name of your vessel, name of those attending with you, size of your vessel, and the day you plan to arrive.
As everyone knows, we had 42 total vessels participate this year. That is up ten from 2009. Can we hit 75 this year?
Thank you,
David and Maureen
