Hi everyone!
I am Mariela , I live in Seattle and my partner love tugboats!
His dream would be to take a short cruise around our beautiful Pacific Northwest. All the tours I found are just inside the tugboat or 7/10 days vacation going to Alaska.
Do you know anyone who can take us in a short tour
In Seattle or Vancouver? I'd love to give him this as a C 🙂 hristmas present . Thank you M

Do you mean a private cruise on a Ranger Tug or similar for a few days? If so, I'd suggest to call local charter companies such as San Juan Sailing in Bellingham. They can rent a boat and provide a captain to go with you (and teach you how to pilot!) Off season may be a challenge due to weather but they could advise.

Warning: it can be expensive as it may lead to wanting a boat 😉

Thank you for your prompt response.
But what I am looking for is a mini tour for 2/3
hours on a tugboat .I don't need to sail it
.My boyfriend just love tugboats and usually they only tow
big boats .If you know a company or an owner of a tugboat who can do it please let me know!!

Our Ranger tugs are, by and large, pleasure boats. They're not working boats.

You might check the fleet out here to make sure this is what you're thinking about.

Cheers,

Bruce

I, too, think you probably want to visit a working Tug. We live in Olympia where the historic Tug Sandman is on display for tours most weekends. I am sure there must be boats available where you live, too. Maybe a check with maritime museums will steer you in the right direction. As an aside, Olympia celebrates Harbor Days every Labor Day weekend, and the highlight is visits from many historic Tugs that are open to the public, followed by tugboat races. It is possible to watch them close up from the Virginia V or other vessels that take passengers to view the races. Good luck, I am sure you will find the perfect gift experience for your Tug lover.

Thank you to all the ones who took the time to guide me in the right direction.
I believe that what he wants is a working tug, difficult to find one who takes passengers considering all the regulations in Seattle. There is one in NC and another one in Manhattan that offer tours ,who knows ,maybe in a future trip !.
Happy Holidays !
