I just ordered an R31 Sedan. This will be the first in Montreal I think. Arriving April, I can't wait!
The boat has two TV screens. Is a TV antenna included? If not, is it optional? A search turned up posts for Am and FM but nothing about TV.

Thanks,

Bob

Bob,

I know on the other Rangers that come TV equipped that there is a TV antenna as part of the package. My experience has be that reception is marginal unless close to a city. If you know Spanish, like cartoons and repeats of Criminal Minds you will definitely be in good shape when anchored out in a remote spot!

Hey there Bob,

Congrats on your purchase! It does come equipped with a Majestic Tv antenna. Like Knotflying says, it is best when close to local television. Any questions, please feel free to email or call me direct.

Thanks for your business, we really appreciate it!

Hi Bob, We put a KVH antenna on our boat which receives DirecTV allowing us to receive all the stations we receive at home. The cost for the additional box for the boat is $6.00 a month. We absolutely love it, one of the best things we have added. We bought the antenna through Ranger and saved a great deal of money. I absolutely love football and can go out in the boat without missing a game. Go "Seahawks" ( sorry SF but Kaepernick does have a connection with our family).

Bob,
Does the KVH work in Canada, i.e Desolation Sound? (Disgraceful, I know).
Marc

Marc,
The KVH antenna comes in a variety of capabilities. Our KVH is a M3 and receives well into Canada but am not sure if it will receive in Desolation Sound area. The M5 might do that very well. The person that was very helpful with our antenna was Ben Bettelli of Coast Marine Marketing, he can be contacted at "ben@coastmarinemarketing.com" and you can use my name. I would contact the Ranger Tug office for purchasing the unit if you make that decision.

Thanks, Bob. Around Puget Sound and the San Juan's, I use a Dish Tailgater. I use Dish at home take a receiver on the boat or RV and it pulls in everything I get at home. No extra cost on my subscription. It automatically seeks 3 satellites and it's all HD. But it doesn't work in Canada.

I'll check Coast Marine Marketing and RT office.
Marc

Marc,
The KVH antenna is a satellite seeking antenna. It works with the boat at a dock, while running or at anchor. Boat movement does not affect the reception like a stationary antenna.
All the best,
Bob

One other Item is the model you select depends on North Latitude and mine may work well in Desolation Sound, I just haven't been there since I had it installed. Check with Ben for the unit limitations.
