This PNW is getting to me!

Santa Claus, Tooth fairy or THE SUN are MYTHS!

We just got 4+ inches of snow.....trade ya for some (at least) non-snowy gloom!! Supposed to be 70 and sunny by the weekend....hopefully!

sun shining in FL, winter is over 83 degrees. has been wonderful 70s in April.

had to escape the 140 days of PNW rain this weekend and head to Phoenix. alas no boating down there.

this time last year it had already been 94 deg c in seattle!!

One of the reasons I traded away from a cabin cruiser to a Ranger was the weather. Having fiberglass and glass surrounding me so that I would be warm and dry no matter how much rain and cold there was outside.

Now I just have to worry about the wind and waves before going out for the weekend.

Ditto.... plus I'm no sun worshiper at all.... I like to stay 'white'

Really? 94 degrees "c" in Seattle? That's kinda warm.....

come on Seattle summer... this time last year I was having dinner outside on the water midweek!

Departing Wisconsin tomorrow for Anacortes. Looking at your weather forecast - - We are leaving 72 and sunshine in Wisconsin for 50's and rain..... struggling to figure what to pack!!

Be prepared for anything. Sweats and heavy jackets down to T-shirts and shorts. Layer up, you can always take it off. Don't forget the rain gear. If you're into umbrellas I'd take one.A small electric heater is nice to have if you are in a place with 120 volts RV park or shore power.

For PNW weather nerds I recommend the blog by Cliff Maas, a prof at UW. Although it gets occasionally political (it's a blog, after all, so skip over if you don't like it), it is always a good read about local weather phenomena. While you are cold and miserable, at least you you can improve your understanding of PNW weather.

Long range weather models like this:

And this (which is really the same creaky old model the NWS uses...time to modernize)

Point to better things toward the end of the month. It has been a brutal year in the PNW, reminding me that the time to visit is August and then leave after the Rendezvous in September.

Hang in there!

We had two beautiful days in a row last week. This week we are back to a wet mess. Approached the local coffee stand ordering a Pumpkin Spice latte. I went on to explain to the Barista my reasoning that Summer was over and the Fall season was upon us. She growled at me and denied me a Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Let's be thankful for what we do have that others don't. My brother in the UK is whaling about his local small rivers all drying up. Things could be a lot worse. No matter, I feel your pain as having a few dry sunny days here in the PNW would be welcomed by me as well.

The next week for the PNW Puget Sound area looks promising. 🙂

We squeezed in a trip to Victoria and Butchrt Gardens last week. The weather was partly sunny most of the week (only on Thursday it rained) and we had really smooth water!

Great trip!

this weekend is looking good!!
