Hi. When in gear, the throttle will not hold a desired RPM between 1100 and 1400 (when lowered to 1400 it then drops to 1100 by itself). Throttle without gear engagement holds any RPM with no problem. I've tried tightening the clutch screw, but no improvement. Is this normal?

Second question: The manual states: "WE RECOMMEND PREVENTING THE CLUTCH FROM ACTING WHEN A GEAR IS ENGAGED". Can someone clarify this for me, please?

My Ultraflex does the same thing. Sometimes it accelerates.??

What model year R21 do you have? Also engine hours would be great to know as well, sometimes over the course of a few years/hours you may need to adjust shift and throttle cables as they do stretch a bit over time and sometimes they just have to be replaced due to age and use.

Hi Kevin. The boat is a 2016 with 200 hours. Subsequent to my initial post, in speaking with the Ultraflex folks, they feel it is a shift cable issue - once the throttle is moved to around 1400 rpm (in forward gear), the transmission wants to "slip" into neutral (1000-1100rpm). To me, this seems like the shift cable is too short, rather than stretched, but I may be thinking of it backwards (not at the boat right now, so can't look to see if it is a "push" or "pull" setup).

Also, even THEY were not able to explain the "WE RECOMMEND PREVENTING THE CLUTCH FROM ACTING WHEN A GEAR IS ENGAGED" phrase :lol: Must be something lost in the Italian translation :lol: :lol:
